It’s that time of year again. The Catherine Washburn Medical Association holds a fundraising drive every fall to provide funds for our mission of supporting the clinic building and medical equipment as well as the Lopez Island medical community. We are now partnering with UW Medicine and the Lopez Island Hospital District to ensure quality medical care on Lopez Island.

First, we hope you will renew your membership in CWMA (or join us if you are not yet a member). Membership donations go directly to the purchase and maintenance of medical equipment for the clinic, the upkeep of the building and grounds, and keeping everything inside Lopez Clinic in working order. Additional gifts will support some important projects:

  • Upgrade to the X-Ray machine
  • Adding an alarm to the vaccine refrigerator to assure that power outages cannot damage our island’s vaccine supply
  • Support for the Sikstrom Fund, helping isanders with financial need meet their medical and pharmacy bills
  • Our top priority: providing new space for our outstanding physical therapy team. We are in negotiations to lease a larger space in the heart of the village which will allow PT to continue and expand their practice

To help this initiative move to reality the Van Camp family is creating a Matching Challenge Fund of $10,000 for Physical Therapy. This fund will match all donations up to the $10,000 level generating a dedicated $20,000 fund for CWMA to use for the new PT facility.
